Phil Anselmo - Άλλο ένα καινούριο κομμάτι από το επερχόμενο solo άλμπουμ

   Στις 16 Ιουλίου κυκλοφορεί το πρώτο solo άλμπουμ του Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) με τίτλο "Walk Through Exits Only" μέσω της δικής του δισκογραφικής Housecore Records.

   Με παραγωγό τον ίδιο και τον Michael Thompson, ο δίσκος γράφτηκε μέσα στα 2 προηγούμενα χρόνια με τη μπάντα του The Illegals (Marzi Montazeri και José Manuel Gonzales).

Phil Anselmo - Κυκλοφορεί το ντεμπούτο σόλο άλμπουμ του το καλοκαίρι

   Μεταξύ 2011 και 2012 ο τραγουδιστής Phil Anselmo των Pantera (παλιότερα) και Down δούλευε πάνω στο πρώτο του σόλο άλμπουμ, το οποίο έχει τίτλο "Walk Through Exits Only" και προγραμματίζεται να κυκλοφορήσει μέχρι το καλοκαίρι μέσω της δικής του δισκογραφικής Housecore Records.
   Σε πρόσφατη συνέντευξή του στο ARTISTdirect.com ο τραγουδιστής μίλησε για την περιοδεία των Down,  το καινούριο τους EP και την επερχόμενη σόλο δουλειά του. Σχολιάζοντας το δύο πρώτα κομμάτια του επερχόμενου σόλο άλμπουμ "Family, Friends And Associates" και "Conflict" δήλωσε:
" I think those songs are still a far cry from the full-length that will be coming out this upcoming summer, though. To me, they're more in line with the straight-ahead songs I've come up with. Be prepared for a different listen when you hear the upcoming full-length. I wanted to do something different with a lot of fucking energy that would, I guess, come off as faster or more energetic than your basic fast playing at a million miles an hour with blast beats. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's just been overdone so many times. In my mind, there are ways to rhythmically capture a lot of energy without having to resort to the common way or speed-for-the-sake-of-speed feel. "

Επίσης στιχουργικά φαίνεται είναι εμφανής η διαφορά με το μοτίβο στίχων των Down.

" With the Down lyrics, the listeners can take them and interpret them in their own ways. With the solo shit, I'm being very direct. There isn't any wordplay. There isn't any hidden message. It's all right there in front of you. There it is. "

Anders Björler - Σόλο άλμπουμ για τον κιθαρίστα των The Haunted και At The Gates

   Ο Σουηδός κιθαρίστας Anders Björler των The Haunted (αρχικά) και At The Gates κυκλοφορεί το πρώτο σόλο άλμπουμ του με τίτλο "The Antikythera Mechanism" προς το τέλος της χρονιάς.
   Σχετικά με το ύφος αυτής της προσωπικής του δουλειάς ο ίδιος δήλωσε
" This is not a 'metal' project. Those of you who are familiar with my soundtrack/movie stuff for The Haunted and At The Gates documentaries will know somewhat to expect. It's inspired by Italian film music from the '60 and '70s, post rock, ambient, progressive, jazz, and Swedish folk music. "

Serj Tankian - Κυκλοφορεί καινούργιο solo album

   Ο Αρμένιος Serj Tankian, πρώην τραγουδιστής των System Of A Down, κυκλοφορεί τον τρίτο δίσκο της solo καριέρας του με τίτλο "Harakiri" στις 10 Ιουλίου μέσω της Reprise Records και της δικής του δισκογραφικής Serjical Strike. Τα δύο προηγούμενα σόλο άλμπουμ του "Elect the Dead" και "Imperfect Harmonies" κυκλοφόρησαν αντίστοιχα το 2007 και 2010.
